Administration Releases Fair Pay & Safe Workplaces Final Rule & Guidance

On August 25, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Council and U.S. Department of Labor released a and , respectively, to implement the “Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces” 13673, commonly called the Blacklisting Executive Order.  The order requires federal contractors and their subcontractors to disclose past labor and employment law violations as a condition of receiving a contract award.  It also requires such contractors to provide certain pay information to employees and independent contractors, and it limits the use of mandatory arbitration of employment-related disputes.  鶹Ƶhas been actively working with Congress to undo this initiative and is prepared to pursue legal action.  

Certain provisions of the sweeping regulations will be implemented as early as October 25, 2016.
